Tour

The Regional Study Tour will leverage the robust local and regional network of
partnerships that include innovation hubs, Academia (Education Collaborative, IUCEA),
Government Agencies, Investors, Startup and SME communities and private sector to:

  • Innovation Ecosystem Exchange Meetings: Create awareness of the diverse commercial opportunities for the innovators to enhance their business and commercialization strategy
  • Regional scaling of innovations: Create connections with potential market operators, business networks, financiers to support their commercialization journey.
  • Better understand the policy landscape to ensure compliance while cross pollinating their ideas or innovations such as IP policy.

The Regional study tour will take place in Kenya and Rwanda as the two leading
innovation ecosystems for benchmarking to further develop their solutions and expand
their networks of stakeholders.

Key Application Requirements

Applicants must be residents of one of the seven East African Community (EAC) Partner States.

Applicants must be under the age of 35.

Applicants must be enrolled in or have recently graduated (within two years) from a university in an EAC Partner State.

Applicants must have an innovative idea or an existing startup venture.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to developing digital skills to operate and scale their ventures.
